Please, respect my work: don't convert these for any other game (if you need something special, ask me), don't upload to any other site. Thanks!
S'il vous plait, respectez mon travail:
ne convertissez pas mes objets pour un autre jeu (si vous avez besoin de quelque chose, demandez-moi); ne redistribuez pas mes créations sur un autre site. Merci!

About the Sims 1:
What's the Sims 1? Do you have a Sims 1 website?

Sims 2
What's the Sims 2?
It's the latest simulation game of Maxis, where you can manage virtual people. Build their houses, choose their look, make them happy or not. Fill their desires or see their fears become true, it's up to you.
To learn more about it, have a look at the official Sims 2 site or at Aspyr site, if you're a Mac user.

The game exists now for both PC and Mac.

Will my Sims 1 files will work in the Sims 2?
No, the game is completly new, it's not an expansion pack. Clothes or furniture of Sims 1 can't be used in Sims 2.

Downloads & Installation
How do I download and install?
To download a file, click on "Download" button.
For some clothes, there's several buttons: one per color. Move your mouse over the button to have a preview of the color, and click on the button to download.

For PC:

Unzip with WinZip or any other ZIP application and install the packages files in the folder:
My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads
If you haven't any "Downloads" folder there, you can create it, but be sure to be at the right place: My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/, not C:/Programs files/EA Games/The Sims 2.
If you want to download objects, you have also to download the Colour Enabler Package, made by Quaxi.
Sims & houses are distributed in .sims2packages; for them, you just need to double-click on their icon, and they will install by themselves.

For Mac:

Unzip the files with or any other ZIP application, and install the packages in the folder:
Users/"name of your folder"/Documents/EA GAmes/the Sims 2/Downloads/
If you don't have any "Downloads" folder, create it.
If you want to download objects, you have also to download the Colour Enabler Package, made by Quaxi.

Your clothes files have strange names... What do they mean?
All my files begin by a first group of letters: "ATS". It means "Around the Sims", so you know immediatly where the files come from.
Then, the second group of letters is for the ages and the genders concerned, as well as they kind of clothes.

The first letter is for gender:
F for female
M for male
The second letter is for the age, with:
P for toddler*
C for child
T for teen
Y for young adult (University required)
A for adult
E for elder
(*-I don't know why, but it's the letter used by Maxis, so I kept it too)
The third letter is for the kind of clothing:
N for normal
F for formal
L for lingerie
P for pajamas
S for swimming-suits & sport

Sometimes, all those letters aren't needed (ex: ATS_eyeliner001)

Let's take an example:
ATS_FTN_pants001 means the file comes from Around the Sims, and that it's pants designed for a female teenager, in a normal outfit.
Well, if it seems too confusing for you, don't worry, you don't have to know that. It's just explained if you want to understand my naming (and it can help you to find what you look for among my files).

Creation
How can I create my own content for the game?
You can create objects, walls and floors, clothes, characters, houses...

To create objects, you'll need:
- a PC
- SimPE: it's THE application for the Sims 2; it's free and made by the genius and generous Quaxi.
- MeshWorks by MTS2
- a 3D application, like Milkshape, Carrara, or if you're rich enough 3DS Max or Maya.
- a painting program like Photoshop, PaintShop...

To create clothes, hair, make-up, Sims, you'll need:
- PC or Mac
- the Sims 2 Bodyshop (installed with your game)
- a painting program

To create walls & floors, you'll need:
- PC (I don't know if Aspyr has converted HomeCrafter yet)
- the Sims 2 HomeCrafter Plus, by Maxis
- a painting program

To create houses, you'll need:
- PC or Mac
- just the game! :)

Terms of Use
What you can do with the downloaded files...
You can use them in your game, and play with them, of course. That's the essential point! ;)

Objects
You can recolor objects when it's notified they're recolorable (it's notified on the download page, in the description of the object) You can redistribute your recolor on your website and you can now redistribute the mesh as well (though old descriptions say you can't... :), except of course, if this mesh is a donation item. You can't redistribute my meshes, if you don't offer recolors for them, neither proclaim they're your own creations.
You can't recolor objects without the mention "recolorable", nor imitate colors made for donators sets.

Looks & Clothes
You can use my genetics, make-up and clothes to create Sims (a credit link would be nice), and you can distribute your Sims on your site or at the Exchange, but you can't distribute the Sims I made, you can't neither modify them to make them yours, if you want to distribute the result of your rework (but you can do that for your personal use, of course). You can't modify nor recolor any of my clothes, genetics or make-up.

Walls & Floors
You can use them on houses you build and share at the Exchange or on your own web site (credit and link would be nice). You can't recolor, modify or redistribute those files as your own work.

Houses
You can't upload them at the Exchange, nor take them as base to modify if you want to distribute your work.

Sims 1
What's the Sims 1?
It's the first version of the game. It has been released in 2000, and you can still buy the game and its expansion packs. Many sites are still offering downloads (clothing, faces, objects, houses, wallpapers and floors). If you don't know it, it's worth the try! It's a treasure for decorators and builders as there's a huuuuge collection of users objects and skins. In addition, the Sims 1 have smaller files, and smaller system requirements, so it will certainly work on your machine! :)

Do you have a Sims 1 website?
Yes, since february 2001, and it's called Around the Sims. I'm still building new stuff for this game. Even with Sims 2, I don't think I'm going to give up my old Simmies like that! :)
